Sarasota Art Museum is Ringling College of Art and Design’s dynamic laboratory for the exploration and advancement of contemporary art. Sarasota Art Museum’s field trip program is designed to integrate visual art into the classroom and enhance student literacy, critical thinking, observation, and communication skills through museum visits, classroom resources, and art making. Sarasota Art Museum Tours introduce students to original works of contemporary art, a range of media and processes, and related vocabulary for the purpose of broadening students’ understanding of artistic concepts, increasing comprehension of visual vocabulary, developing art-making skills, and building student self-confidence and communication skills.

Visit Sarasota Art Museum and select the Architecture Lab tour to explore artistic concepts and make interdisciplinary connections with Math, Science, English Language Arts and Visual Arts. During your visit students are encouraged to observe closely and think critically, so they can express their ideas confidently and creatively about any work of art.
We also have resources on our website to accompany the tour—Inside Out Videos and Educator Guides—to engage your students before and after your visit.
Our explorations and resources are carefully designed to inspire curiosity, imagination, and understanding, as well as cultivate in our young learners an appreciation for contemporary art.
