WRITE A PLAY is a year-round arts integration program providing students with the example, the inspiration, and the skills to write their own original plays. From field trips to the theatre to see professional productions, to an interactive performance created at your school, to playwriting lessons that will develop the inner artist in your students, this award-winning program is designed to inspire the next generation of playwrights. Now in its 33rd year, WRITE A PLAY reaches over 47,000 students annually across the state of Florida; nationally as far as Camden, NJ and Woodstock, IL; and internationally as far as Scotland and Israel.

The Playmakers Tour: The Write Stuff is the play that inspires writing! The show is available to tour to your school in January and February 2022!
This show inspires your students to write their own plays and participate in our 2022 Young Playwrights Festival. A team of professional actors from FST will perform at least 2 award-winning plays written by youth, and then they will use improvisation and participatory learning as tools to inspire writing.
In addition to up to 3 performances of the show, our teaching artists are available to do in-class playwriting workshops to further work with students on writing plays of their own!
Join Florida Studio Theatre in inspiring student to write fantastic plays!
Educator Reviews:
“I’m so glad that you come here. Children these days just don’t have imagination anymore. But you guys coming in here and teaching them how to write stories… it shows them how to use their imagination again.” – 1st Grade, Gulf Gate Elementary
“Thank you so, so much for coming to our school today! The students had such a wonderful time and were SO excited to write their own plays this afternoon.
