Hello teachers! We look forward to sharing the ocean and Mote research with you and your students. All Mote programs are aligned with standards to help students meet requirements on state assessment tests. Experienced Mote Educators lead your program, giving your students access to Mote’s world-class marine research and helping them learn science concepts while inspiring wonder about the world around us.
Mote Marine Laboratory has over 20 years of experience delivering secure, two-way, interactive virtual experiences to Sarasota classrooms. We connect your learners to our STEM subject matter experts and engage their curiosity with science demonstrations and lively animal encounters. We can see and hear your learners and they can see and hear us via private, safe, interactive videoconferencing connections. Our award winning lessons are based on over 60 years of marine research at our lab and are available in 30 and 60 minute lengths with options for K-12th grades.

Sarasota teachers – ask your school TSP for help. They have cameras and equipment available to help you connect successfully!
We create a custom agenda for you based on your class size, arrival and departure time, and options selected during registration. Your group will be split into sets of up to 20 students. Students sets will rotate between the indoor STEM Exploration and tours of Mote Aquarium and Marine Mammal Center. Admission to Mote Marine Aquarium and Marine Mammal Center is included. STEM Explorations are one hour in length for kindergarten through 12th grade. We recommend groups plan to spend 3-4 hours total at Mote for their program, picnic lunch, and tours.
Visit our website for Policies, FAQs, Chaperone requirements, and additional information.
Field Explorations are outdoor, water-based programs for up to 30 students per session. There is no chaperone limit for Field Explorations. Programs are one hour. All Explorations include admission to Mote Aquarium and Marine Mammal Center.

With Mote, you can discover the world of water through hands-on explorations of this unique substance. Students will perform mini experiments to hypothesize and investigate the water cycle. Although this program takes place in the classroom, be prepared to get a little wet during the water cycle experiments.
