Sarasota Jungle Gardens

Sarasota Jungle Gardens

A tropical adventure awaits all who visit the Sarasota Jungle Gardens. One of the oldest continuously operated attractions in Florida established in 1939, Sarasota Jungle Gardens evokes memories of Florida days gone by. Full of flora, fauna and fun, yet it remains current and exciting for today’s families, locals and tourists alike.

It is home to more than 200 native and exotic animals including birds of prey, different species of parrots and macaws, primates, small mammals, dozens of snakes, lizards, iguanas, alligators, crocodiles and other reptiles – many of them rescued or donated – including Florida’s noted pink flamingos. All nestled within 10 acres of lush tropical landscaping connected by winding jungle trails.

Bring The Jungle To You!

Program description

We bring the excitement of visiting our Jungle to you! Your group can view or interact with a variety of animals/animal artifacts and plant life right from Sarasota Jungle Gardens. Live animal presentations and hands on learning make your even fun and memorable.

Our Educators can visit and have a presentation including amazing facts and information about the zoo life. The presentations last between 30 – 60 minutes and participants may also have the opportunity to touch many of the animals/animal artifacts!

Our presentations can be held indoors or outdoors to audiences of 5 to 5,000. We can discuss a wide variety of subjects including conservation, jungles around the world, ecology, animal care and facts, animal-related professions, Florida natives, and safety training. We can customize our program to match your theme!

Plan for when we cannot bring animals to schools:

We will bring artifacts such as skulls, feathers, snake shed and porcupine quills for students to touch and observe along with worksheets to supplement our teachings. We can also record video ahead of time of animals in action at the zoo if the teachers are able to provide a way to display it. We own a projector.
