Using the power of the arts, especially creative dramatics, Teaching Artist, Laura Courter has developed a folktale writing residency that will have your students engaged in Creative Drama activities resulting in writing their own folktale. Using the concepts of Character, Location (setting), Action (Elaboration) and Plot students will use acting exercises each day to create a well-organized folktale. Each day, students will act and write and the final day of the residency their stories will be performed in their classroom setting.
