Student Field Trips at The Bishop, Grades K-5
Student Field Trips at The Bishop engage students in interactive learning with our collection and the world-at-large. Your school’s curriculum comes to life as students discover, question, and explore!
Student Field Trips are two-hour guided experiences featuring The Bishop’s most popular exhibitions, a visit to the Parker Manatee Rehabilitation Habitat, and one Planetarium show. The exhibitions highlighted and the information given are tailored to the age of your students, from Pre-K to college, and follow the themes of Florida Plants and Animals, Florida’s First Peoples, and Florida Natural History. Field trips for Pre-K to 1st graders may include the Mosaic Backyard Universe interactive children’s exhibit.
Student Field Trips are offered Tuesday-Friday from 9:45am – noon.
Groups have the option to bring lunch to The Bishop, extending their field trip by 30 minutes.
Field Trips must be reserved at least one month in advance. We recommend booking as early as possible, as space is limited.
Field Trips are limited to groups of 15 to 100 students. Groups larger than 100 students will need to book multiple dates.
One teacher or chaperone is required for every 10 students and will be admitted at no additional charge.
Chaperones must be over the age of 18.
Additional adults will be charged at the chaperone rate.
All adults attending with groups are expected to stay with their group for the duration of the program.
Field Trips are not designed to be a comprehensive tour of the entire Museum due to time limitations.
Field Trips build upon big ideas and benchmarks from the Florida Sunshine State Standards.
